In this section we cover the City of Colac and the townships in the foot hills of the Otway Ranges. Most of
the towns have a rich history being the backbone of the rural region. This is one of Australia's best dairy
regions providing for the local and export markets. The City of Colac is the main regonal centre located 75km
from Geelong and 110km from Warrnambool.
Many visitors travel to the coastal towns in the region to avoid a slow trip along the Great Ocean Road, many locations like Johanna can be reached much quicker via Colac and Lavers Hill. |
